Are webzines respectable ways to break into the writing world? I ask because I'm an unpublished writer who wants to build up a bit of a portfolio. I'm half finished with my first novel and have a few short story ideas that I'm going to start writing this week. I've been looking online for magazines that are accepting short story submissions, and have found a lot of e-zines. The last time I was interested in the short story market was a couple of years ago, and back then it was kind of laughed at to have your story published online. Is that still the case? My preference is still old-fashioned print, but I'm willing to be open-minded, as long as it will look good on my writing resume.
