It seems to me that the next election is turning into a popularity race?

call me crazy or whatever you want....but it looks like Giuliani and Clinton are going to be the main candidates. Giuliani is clearly linked to 9/11 and everyone thinks Bill Clinton was such a great president...so of course he will directly effect his wife's decisions. This could be the most important election of out time and i want to know what the people think i think some are misunderstanding what i mean by "popularity". of course the popular ones won in the past...but they were known for what they stood for and what they've done. this is more like a hollywood race, almost like paris hilton could run. i can deal with arnold being the governor, but this is the president. that's what i meant. these people are getting credit for all the wrong reasons. i realize that Grant was elected and other war time heros were elected. But they were looked at as leaders and were respected for that. i'm talking about a guy who put on a fireman's hat and walked around nyc and a lady that is married to a president people are saying was good in hindsight.

  1. that is how it always have been since i began voting way back when.

  2. It's BEEN a popularity contest for as long as I can remember (I'm 26 just so you know).

As for your candidate selection, I doubt it. Neither one really has the ability to carry themselves through to the election. Decent candidates but let's face it -- no one wants a president linked to 9-11 OR another Clinton in office. Think about it.

  3. I think your correct, but then again I don't think we have ever

elected an "unpopular" candidate.......that would be sort of stupid......

  4. they want you to think your crazy this is what it is to use your mind there is no justice just mainstream control it sucks when you arent mainstream luckily i am dude now im gonna watch some tv to numb my brian and go eat meat to destroy my body with chemicals that are injected into animals, i meant brian damit brain there we go

  5. ok, so let me process this..... the NEXT election is TURNING INTO a popularity race?

what have all the other elections been, then? a booby prize?

they all are, and have been, popularity contests!!!

  6. Every time I hear Hillary, my ears can't stand the grating sound that screeches from her throat. Poor Dodd and the plagerizer don't have a chance. Ditto Obama in my humble opinion.

  7. I think that Hillary Clinton is probably going to be the Democratic candidate, but I'm not so sure about Giuliani on the Republican side. None of the Republican candidates seem to stand out for me, and Fred Thompson is still a dark horse.

  8. Well, how else would our society judge a person? If they are popular or not, dur.

The popular ones are looked up to because they have been labeled "popular" by the ones who wish they could be like them, or perhaps by a certain "thing" known as the MEDIA.

The media practically rules this country and tightens its grip on society more and more.

It's kinda like when you were in school. The "popular" kids were usually popular because they'd take any dare thrown at them, or they were renowned for doing the wildest and stupidest of things. Or perhaps they had a nice outside shell.

  9. You are 100% ccorrect. People are shallow, and stupid. Sorry but that's the way it is. Why else would Romney get a 400 dollar haircut???

Why is it that the people hire employees based on their looks. If there is a good looking guy or gal with the same qualifications. Or even if the good looking one is not as qualified as the other job applicant they will be picked. The good looking one will get the job. It is not fair, but this whole world boils down to good looks, and physical attraction. It has been this way for decades.

Since TV became the venue for advertising, and public elections. Can you tell me since Ted Kennedy was there ever a President that won an election not good looking. Lyndon Johnson became president because of Kennedy's assassination. Sad but true.
