What is the weakest link on my computer (see specs)?

I have an XP system I use for high end gaming, and am curious to know what to upgrade next. Here's what I have: OS: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 CPU: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz RAM: 2.5 GB DDR 800 ROM: 4.5 TB (don't ask) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7100 GS 512.0 MB Motherboard: ASUS M2N SLI -E I am thinking my CPU is next or Video Card, what do you think? And if it is that, which one is the best that is compatible with my chip? Money isn't really a problem for CPU or VCard, as long as it is under US$300 (I live in Taiwan, so I can get them very cheap here) Thanks for any advice! Punk is right, I DO have DDR2 And my HDD is SATA. Well, my computer plays Fallout 3, Mirror's Edge, Spore, and a many other low powered games (hence the 4.5 TB), and it all runs just fine. Of course these are not at maximum, but not at minimum either. Either way, I got the answers I needed, and I will go get a motherboard later this week and CPU. Thanks a lot!!

I'm afraid EVERY thing. The Processor is under powered now. The Card is dreadful. You would have to upgrade to DDR2. And to do all this you need a new motherboard. I can point you in the right direction of what to buy if you want!

Yes you are right about your CPU and graphics needing upgrading =].
And no I wont ask about the 4.5TB =O.
In australia I can get a 9800GTX for $300 here GTX280's cost well over $700 =[ If they are cheap there 4870X2 are pretty cheap and are nearly on par with a GTX280. but here i am going to get the 9800gtx =].
With a socket 754 you arn't going to get much better so a new board seems to be in order I can get a used Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 for under $100 which has SLI =] and a Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz for $200.
So I think it's either a Graphics card or a new board and CPU, I would go with the new board and CPU because 1.8 is not enough and you can get the Graphics later.

dude ur comp is up to date ..the only problem is with ur video card...i have geforce 7100 gs and i must say that it sucks to the core in terms of performance.....eventhough the memory is 512,the card in terms of performance is bad compared to the other geforce editions....go in for a 1gb card ....either nvidia or ati.....by looking at the specifications of ur pc...u can install windows vista which will obviously enhance the speed and overall performance of the system.....the pc is damn good as far as gaming is concerned.....just replace the video card ....1.8 GHz is quite low but that wont be a big blow..... good luck

I'd call that system done and build a new one on a dual core CPU with the latest PCI-E, and SATA HDD connections, or at least choose a graphics card with that possibility.

You must upgrade all.
intel core 2 quad or AMD Phenom. they are the Best.
